Earthquake, Aftershock, Tsunami, Prayer

In one snap, we get to realize how trivial every day whining is when a disaster as earthquake and tsunami happened to a nearby country and might occur in our land.

Just this afternoon, northeast coast of Japan was hit by a great earthquake with 8.9 magnitude then followed by powerful aftershocks and tidal waves. 26 people perished as of writing this and many more are still missing.

Tsunami is predicted to hit Philippine areas like Batanes Group of Islands, Northernmost areas of Ilocos Norte, Cagayan, Isabela, Quezon, Aurora, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Albay, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao del Sur.

The whole Pacific Basin were given a tsunami warning  (except Canada and mainland United States). Other countries were already under the alert like Australia, Antarctica, Indonesia, Taiwan, Papua New Guinea, Marshall Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, New Zealand, Hawaii, Guam, Russia, and even South America as Mexico, Chile, Peru, Colombia.

Be prepared. Go to a higher ground. Don’t go near the coastal lines. Find a way to help. Pray.

It is a human tragedy taking place, and we need each other for support. Wherever we are in the world, events like these prove that we are just one and interconnected. No racial differences. No ethnic boundaries. We are all the same. Let’s keep the faith. God bless us all.

  1. Now the victims reached hundreds… Yes, prayer is what we can do for the meantime.
